Who we are

DroneVR and DroneVR2 (“the Apps”) are developed by Appologics UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Graf-Tattenbach-Weg 4a, 82547 Eurasburg, Germany (“we”, “our”, “us”). Both apps are flight companion apps for DJI drones, intended for adult drone pilots (18+).

If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise a privacy right, contact us at privacy@appologics.com.

Location data

Both apps use your device’s and/or aircraft’s GPS location to display your home point and record flight telemetry; DroneVR (Android) also shows your position on an in-app minimap and logs telemetry to an on-device flight log. Location data is used only to provide this functionality. It is processed on your device and is not sold, used for advertising, or used for analytics.

Privacy policy for the use of DJI SDK

Both DroneVR and DroneVR2 make use of DJI’s Mobile Software Development Kit (SDK) to connect to and control your DJI aircraft. To activate, the SDK communicates with DJI’s own servers — this is required by DJI for all apps built on their SDK, independent of Appologics.

For the SDK provided by DJI, the DJI privacy policy applies. It can be found at http://www.dji.com/policy.

Camera (iOS only)

The apps use your device’s camera to scan QR codes when pairing a VR headset. DroneVR2 (iOS) additionally uses it to switch between the drone camera view and a pass-through phone camera view. In both cases the camera feed is processed on-device only; nothing captured is stored or transmitted by us.

Microphone and voice control (iOS only)

DroneVR2 (iOS) can use your device’s microphone for voice-controlled flight commands, using Apple’s Speech framework. By default, audio may be sent to Apple’s servers for speech recognition; enabling the app’s offline voice control setting keeps recognition entirely on-device instead. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for how Apple handles speech recognition data.

DroneVR (Android) does not use the microphone or any voice recognition feature.

Photo library and local network (iOS only)

DroneVR2 (iOS) can save photos and videos captured during a flight to your device’s Photo Library, and can use your local Wi‑Fi network to connect multiple phones in viewer mode. Both stay on your device or local network and are not transmitted to us or any third party.

DroneVR (Android) does not access a shared photo library or local-network viewer mode.

Crash reporting

The apps use Firebase Crashlytics to collect app crash logs, helping us improve app stability. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Ads are explicitly disabled and are not used. For Firebase/Crashlytics, Google’s privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Purchases

In-app purchases in DroneVR and DroneVR2 are processed entirely by Google Play Billing; the app stores only a local flag on your device indicating your purchase/subscription status. In-app purchases in DroneVR2 (iOS) are processed entirely by Apple’s App Store / StoreKit. Neither app receives or stores your payment details, and purchase data is not sent to any server we operate.

See Google’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy for how each platform handles billing data.

Data we do not collect

Neither app collects or transmits your name, email address, or any other personal identity information — there is no account or sign-in system in either app. Neither app uses advertising SDKs, and neither uses analytics beyond what is described above (which is disabled in DroneVR2 and entirely absent from DroneVR).

How data is stored and shared

Settings, flight logs, and purchase-entitlement state are stored locally on your device only, and are removed automatically when you uninstall the app. We do not operate a server that stores your personal data, and we do not sell your data.

The only data leaving your device is: telemetry needed to control your own aircraft over its local Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth/USB link (stays between your device and your drone), SDK registration traffic to DJI required for the apps to function, billing transactions handled by Google Play or the App Store, and — for DroneVR2 only, and only if offline voice control is not enabled — voice audio sent to Apple for speech recognition, and crash logs sent to Firebase Crashlytics.

Children’s privacy

Neither app is directed at children. Both require a DJI aircraft to use meaningfully, and their target audience on the App Store / Google Play is set to adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Apple Inc.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the apps change. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of an app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
